Thanksgiving Baskets

November is when we give thanks to our family and friends.  This Thanksgiving our students decided they wanted to raise the bar high for our project.  They wanted to make Thanksgiving baskets for our families in need around Medford.  This was a large undertaking but a huge success.  Students went above and beyond getting donations from family and friends as well as businesses from the community.  We raised over $1,700 in funds to purchase food for each basket.  Students made 36 complete baskets with all the fixings for a Thanksgiving meal and they were able to collect enough gift cards to put in each basket for families to purchase a turkey or whatever they choose as the main component of their meal.  Our fundraiser was such a success that Fox 25 News came to our school to do an entire segment on this project.  Students were interviewed about why they did this and how it made them feel.  This will now be a project that CCSR will do each year!
