Coins for Cancer
CCSR 5th grade students Allison Waldron and Kyla Magras worked together to organize a school-wide Coin Challenge to benefit the American Cancer Society, a nationwide voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer. Each class at the Brooks was given a large see-through collecting bottle. These were clearly labeled and placed in a central location in each classroom. Each room then competed to see who could fill their bottle with the most coins. The top three classes with the most coins received a handsome Certificate of Achievement. This challenge took place during the months of February and March. In the end, Allison and Kyla donated a substantial amount of money for a very worthy cause.
